1. About the terms and who we are

1.1 These terms apply to the use of this website. The website is operated by Berserker AS, org. no. 923 845 542, Sanden 1, 3264 Larvik, Norway.

1.2 By entering your email address to gain access to the website, you accept these terms and theprivacy policy. If you do not accept them, you can still use the open parts of the website: the front page and the pages on privacy and terms.

2. The service and access by email

2.1 The website is a reference work on runes, runic inscriptions and the Viking Age, with a name tool that writes names in runes.

2.2 The service is free. To read more than the front page, and to use the name tool more than once, you must enter your email address. No account and no password are created.

2.3 Once you have entered your email address, your browser remembers that you have access. If you use another browser or device, you will be asked again. Your email address is registered only once.

2.4 You must enter your own, correct email address, and you must be at least 13 years old.

3. Newsletters and marketing

3.1 By accepting these terms you consent to our sending you newsletters and marketing by email about runes, Norse culture and our products and offers. The emails are sent now and then, not on a fixed schedule.

3.2 You can withdraw your consent at any time using the unsubscribe link in every email, or by contacting us. You keep your access to the website even if you unsubscribe.

4. Use of the content and the name tool

4.1 Texts, illustrations and design on the website belong to us or our licensors. You may read the content, share links and quote short extracts with attribution, but not copy or reuse it commercially without consent.

4.2 Images from museums are used under the licences stated beside each image, and reuse follows that licence.

4.3 You may use the result from the name tool freely, including for tattoos and prints. Runic writing is interpretation: if the result is to be used for something permanent, it is your responsibility to check it first.

5. Your obligations

5.1 You must not use the website unlawfully, register other people’s email addresses or retrieve content with automated tools on a large scale. If you breach the terms, we may delete your registration.

6. Scholarly disclaimer and liability

6.1 The content is based on the sources stated, but runology and history are interpretation, and we cannot guarantee that everything is complete or correct. The service is free and is provided “as is”. Nothing in the terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer legislation.

7. Privacy and deletion

7.1 How we process personal data and cookies is described in theprivacy policy. You can ask us to delete your email address at any time.

8. Changes, governing law and contact

8.1 We may change the terms, and will give notice of material changes on the website. The terms are governed by Norwegian law; consumers retain the protection of the mandatory rules of their country of residence.
