Privacy policy
In force from 6 November 2026. If the Norwegian and English versions differ, the Norwegian version applies.
1. Who is responsible
Berserker AS is the controller of the personal data processed on this website.
Berserker AS, org. no. 923 845 542
Sanden 1, 3264 Larvik, Norway
Email: primaryhorizonas@gmail.com
2. What we process, why, and on what basis
Access by email
The home page is open to everyone. To read the rest of the website, or to use the name tool more than once, we ask for your email address. No account or password is created, and each email address is registered only once, even if you enter it from several browsers or devices.
We store your email address and when you registered. The basis is the agreement for access under theterms (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)). Without an email address we cannot give you access to the rest of the website.
Newsletters and offers
When you accept the terms, you consent to our sending you newsletters and marketing by email about runes, Norse culture and our products and offers. The basis is your consent (Article 6(1)(a), and section 15 of the Norwegian Marketing Control Act). You can withdraw your consent at any time with the unsubscribe link in every email, or by writing to us. You keep your access to the website even if you unsubscribe.
Record of your consent
For each registration we store which form you used, which version of the terms and texts you accepted, the time, and a cryptographic checksum of your IP address. We do not store the IP address itself. This lets us show that consent was given (Article 7(1)), and the basis is our legitimate interest in recording it (Article 6(1)(f)).
Bot check
The forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to stop automated sign-ups. Turnstile only loads when you start filling in a form, and processes your IP address and information about your browser, among other things, to tell people from bots. The basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the list free of abuse (Article 6(1)(f)).
Visitor statistics
We count visits with Plausible Analytics. Plausible uses no cookies and does not store IP addresses. Visits are counted with an anonymous code that changes every day, so we cannot follow you from day to day or know who you are. We only see totals, such as how many people visited a page or used the name tool. What you type into the name tool is never sent to the statistics. The basis is our legitimate interest in understanding how the website is used (Article 6(1)(f)).
Language
The first time you open the home page, we use the country your network belongs to in order to choose Norwegian or English. Cloudflare reads the country from your IP address, and it is not stored. If you choose a language yourself, a cookie remembers your choice.
3. Cookies and browser storage
We only use what the service needs to work: the cookie runer_access, which remembers that you have given your email address, a cookie for your language choice, and local storage for the theme and the name tool. None of them contains your email address. The full list is on the cookies page.
4. Who processes the data for us
We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with others for their marketing. These process data on our behalf, under a data processing agreement:
- Cloudflare runs the website, stores the email list in a database within the EU, and provides the bot check (Turnstile).
- Plausible Insights OÜ (Estonia) provides the visitor statistics, with servers in the EU.
- When we send newsletters, we use an email delivery provider. It receives your email address to send the emails, and for nothing else.
5. Transfers outside the EU/EEA
The email list is stored within the EU. Cloudflare is a US company, and some of the processing, such as the bot check and delivering the web pages, may take place outside the EU/EEA. Cloudflare is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, and the transfers are also covered by the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
6. How long we keep the data
- We keep your email address and the record of your consent for as long as you have access to the website, or until you ask us to delete them.
- If you unsubscribe from the newsletter, we stop emailing you, but keep your email address for as long as you have access to the website.
- If you ask us to delete your data, we delete it within 30 days. We keep only a note that the address has unsubscribed, so that you do not get email from us again by mistake.
- Plausible stores only totals, not information about you.
7. Your rights
You have the right to:
- find out what data we hold about you, and get a copy (access),
- have mistakes corrected,
- have the data deleted,
- ask us to restrict the processing,
- object to processing we do on the basis of legitimate interest,
- receive the data you have given us in a common format (data portability),
- withdraw your consent to newsletters and offers at any time.
Write to primaryhorizonas@gmail.com. We reply within one month. If you believe we process your data in breach of the rules, you can complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority, Datatilsynet.
8. Age
You must be at least 13 years old to register, as set out in the terms.
9. Changes
If we change how we process personal data, we update this page and the date at the top. If we start using cookies for statistics or advertising, we will ask for your consent first.
